Doug Swink, RLS
Douglas Swink is in private practice in Memphis, Tennessee as the owner of Ollar Surveying Company. Doug has been in the surveying business since 1987 and has been a licensed professional since 1993. He is a licensed land surveyor registered in Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas and Kentucky. He has directed field personnel and office drafting efforts on countless surveying projects over the years. His firm has been continuously providing surveying services under contract for the City of Memphis – Memphis Light, Gas & Water Division for the past 30 years.
Mr. Swink is a recognized expert in boundary surveying and land title surveys. His surveying practice is focused on land boundary issues, specializing in land title surveys, land division, entitlements, zoning and land use. He has been a consultant and qualified expert witness on many cases involving land surveying, land use and boundary disputes. Doug is also a seminar leader on surveying and land use topics that have been presented throughout the Mid-South. Mr. Swink also has nearly 30 years of land planning experience beginning in the early 90's with planning and entitling residential and commercial developments for other developers in the Mid- South which evolved into primarily providing land planning for his own land development company – Renaissance Development. Having gained a great deal of experience in planning various prominent developments in Germantown and Collierville, Mr. Swink furthered honed his experience in land planning by physically developing neighborhoods he had planned himself - which provided a unique planning perspective related to the actual conversion from design to the built environment. His passion of late has been the development of sections of the community of Hickory Withe, where he has planned (and developed) the most prestigious neighborhoods within the community and Rossville, where he calls home.
Mr. Swink also consults with other land developers and municipalities throughout the Mid-South on land planning procedures and practices which incorporate sustainable and environmentally sensitive design standards and has worked with many governing bodies on adopting or amending zoning and subdivision regulations which promote responsible land development.
